Did the bridge base master solvers get killed? If so, why? Sorry, I'm out of the loop lol.

The score keeper retired... and I am not up to keeping score. I think someone volunteered, but after my mother;s health problem, I mislayed who it was. I do have some hands, I guesss I just need someone to step up and be the contact person.

Great Justin, I would love the master solvers to come back.

I believe the main reason that Elianna stopped was that there were too many complaints about what was done with the scores. Perhaps now that it has been gone for a while, we all realize how much fun it was and be more respectful to the people who make it possible. (this is not at all directed at anyone in particular)

I seem to recall sending you a message that I was forwarding your message to Ben.

Not just complaints about what was done with scores, but complaints from people who didn't even take the time to SEE what was done. That was just the final straw.

I complained, and I think I had every right to do so. All I "saw" was that someone had won the competition. SO WHAT? I wanted to know how I compared to all the others, not just the winner.

No, you had no right to complain at all. Nobody promised you anything.

You had the right to make suggestions to do things differently. The consensus was otherwise. Live with it.

I really don't see why you should complain !

BPO was great and the most important was to see the responses and comments of the panel.

Why care about score ?

I'm also very glad there are new volunteers and wish them good luck ! :)

With that attitude, it is no suprise Elianna quit.

if you had tried being more constructive and a bit more helpful, then perhaps we all could have enjoyed it.

You should be grateful for what we had, not whinging all the time.

I hope you disliked it so much you won't take part in any future ones

I'm sticking up for Whereagles here. He has stayed consistent to his point of view throughout, and didn't consider his attitude rude or unreasonable at all. Unlike that of some of the other posters here.

And I'll back Elianna here. Here's the information she was already tabulating and posting at the time of Whereagles complaint:

(1) The winner, and the winner's score.

(2) The names of other high-scoring participants.

(3) The number of participants who chose each possible answer.

(4) The median score.

The tone of Whereagles complaint was that he didn't think Elianna was "doing anything." However, he subsequently admitted that he had not bothered to read the threads where she posted all the information above.

The degree of whining about things was rather out of hand to begin with, but accusing someone of not doing her job while admitting that he didn't bother to read what she had actually done seems pretty extreme and I can understand why Elianna doesn't want to take that sort of criticism.

I suggest that when someone else takes up the task of tabulating scores, that we at least take a look at what they did before complaining that they did not do enough.

To disagree as privilege exclusive to those who contribute? Wishful thinking, that's what it is.

Get real. Or, should I say, get used.

there's a big difference between disagreeing and complaining... if, for example, you thought you could do a better job why not offer your services? if elianna was getting swamped and if doing even more would result in her not being able to do anything at all, offer to help

anyone can complain... we had a rule when a bunch of us would go fishing at a camp on a bay near my house... the first to complain about the food had to cook... that cut *way* down on complaints
