tallyb
Hi, here are some items i collected. I have no idea if anything was already raised. i would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for BBO which is a great software, and a great chance to "meet" great players and amazing people. so.... here are my items: 1. Registering as substitute to all of the tournaments currently in progress. I like substituting, especially when there is no upcoming tournament. If a person can identify himself or herself as a "available for substation for all tournaments", without the need to register each single tourney to register, it will make it easier for TDs to have subs. 2. Mute button at the bottom line of buttons. With the growing number of computer based phone applications, it is sometimes crucial to mute all of BBO sounds when a call is coming in, or need to be placed. The other side can be really upset with all the ping sounds (I know you can unmark sounds in preferences, but this is too much effort sometimes for a 1 minute calls. 3. Ability to buzz your partner. A player is not allowed to make private chats for his partner, and for a reason . The private chat is also used sometimes to "wake up" a sleepy player. Usually, you need to ask your opps to buzz your p, but in some cases, due to language barriers, they are not able to understand you. A "wake up" button for p could be useful (of course, he can be on mute). Thinking a bit further, it could be good to have a buzz option for all players, and the buzz option supersedes the mute! 4. Extend the place for "other information on card". You can still keep the player information at a reasonable size by reducing the size of the flag, and displaying it on the right hand corner (next to name). you should see the manipulations people do in order to explain their system in, what, 40 chars? shoeless
Two things I appreciated on another site I played on were a "horn" and the ability to check 'pings' of the the players at the table. There are times when someone gets distracted and isn't aware it's their turn to bid or play so the 'horn' can be used to alert them. Unfortunately, I have also seen the horn used very inappropriately - so in this case there is bad with the good. Checking ping is nice because you can see if person is having connectioin difficulties and you sometimes avoid problems knowing that. More info on the profile is great for pickup pards I think. Good ideas.
Gerardo
Checking pings is currently done, red dots show critical condition (yellow triangles and green squares (or the other way around) were short lived)
