Elianna
will GIB be stronger in playing strength when i drag the playing speed slider to the slower side? regards, spud As with many people's thought process (but not all when judging by some of my pards!), when given more time to think, GIB will do better. Basically, it gets to run more scenarios (that's the short explanation).
spud
thx elianna. any further comment from the software developer?
uday
It will be stronger at slower settings. GIB is no longer under active development as far as I know, so the developer is not easy to reach.

McG
I am still very puzzled and confused about the whole GiB. Yes i am an idiot :D . I still want to find out what it is, but i don't seem to find a way to explore it. Maybe i just die unaware :D
uday
GIB is software that plays bridge. See http://www.gibware.com/ It is a commercial product. Part of it has been integrated into the latest version of BBO, to allow you to play bridge against one, two or three robots. This has entertainment value as well as more than that when you (say) use GIB to supply opposition bidding in Lobby->explore->partnership bidding Use of GIB is free for now, and probably thru all september while we figure out what/how to charge. You can use gib at a table in the main bridge club. 1. Start a table (make it total points, and perhaps make it invisible )2. Click the GIB button on the bottom of the bbo screen and check off 3 seats3. Sit in the fourth seat yourself You willl now be able to play bridge against 3 robots. You can also use GIB to bid for the opps at partnership bidding tables. You can also click on the gib button when speccing. GIB will tell you what it would have bid or played.
