I am seeing threads discussing 3.4.11, yet when I logon to BBO I still get 3.4.8. Should I be getting an auto-update or is 3.4.11 on limited release?

First it has been a rumor :) a few days ago...

I heard of it... :)

And two days ago I saw a chat message with an URL... :)

and yesterday I saw many of these messages, because new version implements Individual Tournaments, many wanted to participate and could not because they had not the new version, so tournament directors have been sending to all winds the URL.

It is very interesting for me because -as you read- it saves on your hard disk those vugraph files we are so found of :)

Exactly as described; 3.4.11 is an experimental release.

We think it is ok, but we know that there are things we want to fix (or keep adding) before we release the next "real" release.

When we produce the next real version, we will automatically update exevryone's PC.

In the meantime, the links to 3.4.11 is

www.bridgebase.com/3.4.11/bbo_setup.exe

This is the full setup. It will wipe out some of your preferences (like show-hands-in-card-mode, sounds).

and this is the update to 3.4.10 . It will work if you update (say) 3.4.8 (the current production releease) but you will be missing some flags

www.bridgebase.com/3.4.11/bbo_update.exe

3.4.11 includes support for individual tournaments, some bugfixes, a new button while you are at a table so you can see what tourneys are pending, and imporved support for team games (click the MOVIE button when speccing a team game, you can now see the results at both tables).

It also allows tourney hosts to restrict registration to people on their Friends list, or people who belong to their private club (if they own a private club)

We still have some distance to go to get to the next production release. I am hoping to be able to release 3.4.12 (13,14,15?) over the next couple of weeks.
