aisha759
Someone please help me help a friend  I know this was discussed on another thread but i just cant seem to find it, so i apologize for having you repeat the solution :(My friend downloaded 4.3.9 and now she cannot play or kibb, and have lobby showing without the chat window having only 2 lines to write on.... i told her to try restoring defaults, uninstalling and reinstalling.....and somehow we were unable to fix her problem... i know others had similar problems and all were able to fix it someway or another... she is under stress and feels her life has been ruined <_< Please helppppp Thank you very muchAisha P.S. her resolution is fine also
inquiry
Tell her to try this. 1) from lobby click on large black VIEW button2) Make sure a check mark is by "Wide screen" (control-w at same time toggles this)3) On the top of the window, where it says Bridge Base online - Version x.x.x are three icons. An underscore, a box, and a red X. Hitting the red X closes the window.4) Have her press the middle icon (the box thing, that if you point at it says either maximize or restore down. That usually does it. For some reason, if you are not in wide mode, the maxize/restore down icon is greyed out, but it still functions. After you press it once, it is no longer greyed out. That should (hopefully) solve her problem.
fred
Try logging in, clicking the Options button on the toolbar, and then uncheck the "big deal" checkbox in the window that appears. I had made it so that the default setting for "big deal" was on (unless the BBO window was set to non-maximized narrow mode), but perhaps it would be better of the default was always "off". When you say your friend cannot play, what do you mean? Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
aisha759
Hi Fred and Ben;I will tell her to try the things you told me about..... oh i didnt meand she CANT play, i mean she cant have the lobby showing and play or kibb, only because of appearance of chat window (i was trying to describe that this happens when playing or kibbing, not from lobby) Regards,Aisha

slothy
dear Amanda, Finally, after all this time, you decided to post in our venerable forums?? All i can say is: you never offered to give me a hug when i helped you  Geez, these guys write one line in a forum and they get a hug...my O my All those nights i sweated and slaved to explain to you what a finesse was and all i got was a measly thx and a disgruntled x ? (perhaps the x was coz you had a sticky x key :D ) Slothy PS as i am sure you know, amanda, all new posters have got to undergo an initiation ceremony. This involves walking naked around your local town square 3 times anti-clockwise, smothered in pistachio-flavoured ice-cream with a Brandenburg cake balanced on your head. Until we have concrete evidence that you have undergone this, you will not be allowed to post in any thread in this forum. Looking forward to the photos in excited anticipation.
