Another lead choice

right or wrong, i would lead a trump: make declarer develop his tricks. if I pick up P's Qxx, oh, well. I wouldn't be surprised if declarer had 6 trumps, anyway. At MP, blindly leading an ace seems to run to much of a risk of giving away a trick.

Trump is the most passive imo, they only need 1 or 2 rounds and still have trumps enough left in dummy to ruff anything. Since it's MP's, I don't want to give opps extra tricks by leading agressive on this hand. Small .

Led a low spade thru pard's AQx! They made easily. Any red suit was okay but a H lead has a chance to set them.

Why wouldn't declarer pick up the AQx anyway? Its not that much of a guess with KJTxx opposite xxxx - unless Dummy has only one entry.

A more typical layout is that they have a 10 card spade fit and the trump lead gives away nothing. Objectively, any non-trump lead rates to be less passive than a trump.

Bad luck I'd say.

hi

just a thought .. if y want an attacking red-suit lead .. try leading one of your Q's.

It may work and may not cost a trick if p has Jxxx or such.

I really dont know in isolation what I'd lead, except that it wouldnt be AC

Small spade, if I catch partner with a stiff club and 3 spades to the A, he wins it, fires me the club and a ruff, we may have this one set. If I just lead the ace of clubs off the hop, I may be setting up an entire suit for declarer to pitch away loses in the red suits.

Alternatively, if I lead one of the red suits, I am asking myself to be finessed.
