reisig
I'd like to congratulate the winning USA team and the Polish team for one of the most exciting matches we've had the pleasure of showing. But without the key vugraph operator Wayne (Cascade) - there would be no show. I've been very invovled with many vugraphs, but the job he did was spectacular! Just 1 complaint - could you please end these matches at a better hour for me..I mean 4AM !!! PLEASE
Al_U_Card
The only way to do that would be to add BIT's during the auction and play and we know where that will lead....;-)
Cascade
Thanks Richie for the praise but I was just one small part of a great team. The others involved directly in the vugraph were: Susan Doty and Richard Willey both from the USA. I think Richard, Susan and I did most of the operator duties. Nick Fahrer and Dave Thompson these guys organized the vugraph schedule very efficiently and shared the vugraph operator duties. One thing that occurred during the round robin was a that there were invisible vugraphs of the three tables from the other room of the vugraph matches. The data for these matches was entered by a vugraph operator from a record of the play recorded by a volunteer at each table. Nick, Dave, Susan and I did this at different times. We also had four or so operators who came in for one or more sessions. I don't know all of their full names so I will just list them by their first names: Tony, Ed, Charlie, Erin and Candice. It was great fun but tiring. I for one would do it all again.
hrothgar
Agree with Wayne's comments The reason that everything proceeded as smoothly as it did was the organizational work done by Nick, David Thompson, and David Stern. Running the vugraph itself was "only" a matter of data entry.
Gerben42
Agree that it was great! Didn't respond earlier as I was away from home. Richie, if you didn't like the finishing time write the Australian government if they could use Florida Time instead :P I agree btw, with most matches between 2 and 10 am European time I didn't get to watch much either... Walddk
Regarding the BB, VC and SB the times will be a lot better for North America. Only the first match of the day is pretty hopeless (5 am in New York). This time the Aussies are going to suffer, because only that particular round will suit *them*. Since the event takes place in Europe it's obvious that the times are much better for Europeans: 11.00, 15:00 and 18:30 Paris time generally. A provisional BBO timetable is to be found at http://online.bridgebase.com/vugraph/schedule.php Roland
Gerben42
One thing I'd like to add. If we start complaining about things no one can do anything about then the Vugraph must be pretty good! :)
