Brandal
Just wondering,is it allowed to open a weak 2 explained as 5-5 without 1 of the suits known? Say open 2D explained as "5-5weak" and you have 5 hearts and 5 clubs?
inquiry
Allowed by who?
Free
That's just brown sticker, and depends on where you want to play it...
Fluffy
willcoss it is right?, brown sticker, wich doesn't mean it cannot be allowed, I think you have to play a minimum of deals (not sure but the number is between 60 and 100 I think) against the same pair/team for a brown sticker to be allowed normally. Brandal
Allowed by who? I played in a tourney a long time ago on BBOand my RHO opened such with such a bid andexplained as 5-5 any suits. My partner called TD and he "ruled" one suit mustbe known,I didn't know then and I don't know nowif that is the case,law-wise. Or if some federations allow it and others not.... I seem to recall the TD ruling was he skipped the board(pd called him after the openingbid) and assigned Average+ for us,and prob ave- for opps. the hog
No Fluffy this is not Wilkosz. That shows 5/5 with at least one Major.
helene_t
It depends on the rules of the tournaments. If no rules were specified, anything is allowed. If the director specified that BSCs were not allowed, then this 2♦ opening was not allowed. I think Wilkosz is a BSC allthough it's a matter of interpretation (after all, it promises length in either major so maybe it could be argued that it's just an excotic style-variant of Multi).
