Rebound
This is just an idea. I have no idea how hard it would be to do but here it is: Take any bridge program where you have computer partner/opponent. They are often able to comply with a basic convention card, but it's virtually impossible to get them to bid and defend using all various the little treatments you may have. But what if there were a training mode, where the program cheats by comparing your hand with your bidding to determine the treatment you like to use... e.g. after 1M-1NT- do you rebid 2M on 5 cards? Rebid 2m on any 3-card? I was thinking it could work like this - take a predealt set of hands comprising hands likely to result in particular auctions, compare your bids with your holdings, look that up in a database to determine the treatment you use and store that as part of the convention card. Something like that anyway. What do you all think? Dumb idea? Impossible to implement? It would seem to me a brute-force approach would work if nothing more elegant is available. I envision the ablility to simply keep playing hands with your computer partner until it is trained to use your complete system. Anyway, make of it what you will. It was just a thought.
