hallway
I have read, re-read and indeed have read again all I can find on the subject in the Help files ::) and I cannot find :-[ any information that will tell me how to: answer all the team members questions filling my screen with chat bubbles WHILST filling in the Create a Table Form. It just 'dings' when I try to respond . The only way I could deal with them was to close the Create a Table Form ??? :- :'( Which, of course, meant I then had to start over filling it in again and again and again ::) Now I KNOW there must be a way - somebody PLEASE tell me (ps - btw I am not the only one who wants to know - I'm just the one asking the question - one of the nice things about being an Aged Void is that one cannot be expected to be an IT whizz :) )
Guest
Dear Maureen Unfortunately I don't think there's such an animal yet :'( As you so poignantly observe, once you're in the thick of starting your Teams Tourney, answering the usual barrage of messages from solicitous colleagues (asking what you've had for tea etc) just ain't an option. Just ignore the b****** [NB Moderator = abbreviated and amended Blissful Ones] and do what any good tourney director has to do ::) You can set up more than 1 director (always adviseable) by using Squiggles thus: hallway~Fred~Sheri~shep :) usernames exactly as is tho case indifferent I think. Cheers, Allan & tiblz PS don't use the above random extra names for extra directors as certain parties may get rather annoyed :) I normally put myself as Director1, Opps' Team Captain as Dir2, and my Playing Captain as Dir3 ... or some suitable mix of the gullible, pleasant and hopefully technically proficient :-* PPS You must also learn to "SUB" players via the Table Button (I think) and sub windows of the resulting pop-up menu/whatever ... it's a vital ingredient of Dir Craft
csdenmark
Don't worry Maureen - You are doing great! Our tournament is NOT about who will be able to handle software best! Our team-members are no IT-geniusses either - and no problem with that. You are completely underestimating yourself Maureen. From handling of the administrative software - you are really the only one who can handle - and have done so - perfect and correct! You are a frontrunner Maureen - I would like to see our members to take your example! In your 1st match you will meet either Precision Team "The Wei Ones" - then Jacek will be able to set up the match or ACOL Alligators 1 and then Allan will be able to set up the match. The problems are of a quite different kind - and they are ours and ours only. Our team is now beginning to realize the tough competition they have to challenge - it is not a walk over. Less than 6 gains out of 8 matches - and tournament victory for any of the non-handicap teams is no longer an option.
uday
The next version of the software makes the "Create Team" window more flexible. You can return to the lobby, play with bubbles, etc, and then return to the Create-Team Window and continue work. I don't have a firm schedule; we still have some more stuff we want to squeeze into the program before the next release. Couple of weeks to a public beta? hallway
It was just the chat that I could not solve. I knew about the tildes - it is in the Help file. I have practiced the subbing - a breeze. During our second 'M's practice' we practiced calling the Director - didn't happen - but soon realised why, so up to speed on that too. Yes, now that I know Uday has the chat issue in his sights I am happy to report to all and sundry that we [glow=red,2,300]The Team from DownUnder[/glow] are ready to play BRIDGE Team Manager - initial training completed Official Director - appointedTeam - studying hard and working on those CC's (bit like sitting an exam really ::) - do we really know all this stuff :- ) We have already issued the AA1 team with our challenge - WE are ready to play BRIDGE with a VERY VERY special THANKS to our friends up north who HELPED me through my Learning Curve with patience and understanding. :-* :-* :-* - SEE YOU AT THE TABLE
