I don't think so. South seems to have a very weak hand with 4-4 or 5-5 in the minors. If he doesn't pass 3♦ I'd be surprised.

Over 2NT I would either raise to 3NT (with 4-4, or 2254) or cuebid (with 5-5 or 3154).

 

Pass (4-4 at matchpoints) or sign-off in 3♣ with a lousy 5 HCPs.

Over 2NT, your parnter can not have a hnad strong enough for slam invitiation, so the an invitiational hand with long diamonds should go via cue-bid I think (no longer needed ot ask for stopper on this auction). 3♠ (other major) is best left for looking for possible moysein fit or to show invite choice with both minors (depending upon your feeling about playing in 4-3 fits).
