bglover
For some odd reason, I can now only look at hands in myhands by downloading the actual hand to my desktop instead of merely opening it from BBO. If i do open from BBO i merely get a blank table (ie I see NSEW but no cards or names). Any help appreciated.
Erkson
For some odd reason, I can now only look at hands in myhands by downloading the actual hand to my desktop instead of merely opening it from BBO. If i do open from BBO i merely get a blank table (ie I see NSEW but no cards or names). I would like to make sure I understand what do you mean with "merely opening it FROM BBO" :as you know when one wants to open some hand he chooses a player's name and a day , gets a BBO Hand Viewer.htm page, clicks on the Movie URL he wants to watch, and sees the hand displayed by NetBridgeVu.exe because there is an association between LIN extension and the software.Do you mean that when you click on the Movie URL you get displayed a blank hand instead of the real one ?Did you verify the association on your PC between "open" function of LIN file extension and NetBridgeVu.exe software ? bglover
Well, when you click on movie, you get the option to "open" or "download" the file. I used to be able to just click open and see the hands. Now, all I see when I clici "open" is a blank table, no cards, no players, no bids (but I do see the empty bidding box). This just started two or 3 days ago..
Erkson
A reason may be an alteration in the association between .lin extension and NetBridgeVu.exe Open Windows Explorer. Click on Tools. Click on last line ("Files Options").Display all files associations.Select "LIN".Click on "Advanced"Click on "Open"Click on "Modify" The final of the line must be :...Your path...NetBridgeVu.exe %1 must be %1 and not "%1"If you have "%1" or nothing, you always will display a blank hand.---------------------If you can't do that, re-install NetBridgeVu.exe. Re-installation will probably restore the association.---------------------- BTW something totally apart of your problem : I chose not to have the choice between opening and saving. When I click on Movie I open. When I want to save I use right click menu. As a matter of fact I no longer use it because I automated the downloading process of all hands of a "Bridge Base Online - Hand Viewer.htm". Erkson
Here is what the path shows in Exploerer, maybe there is a problem?: c:Bridge Base OnlineNetBridgeVu.exe %1 Your path is correct. It may be a problem of /myhands with your PC. I say that because when I open directly from BBO a tourney results .lin file, like this one, for instance :http://bbo.bridgebase.com:81/tourneyresult...gio__~1~368.lin I get a blank page. When I download the page to my hard disk and click on it it is displayed normally. I remember that Uday wrote a line about that telling that the file "may not open". I understood that under some obscure circunstances that problem may occur. I can't tell you more at the present time. Erkson
bglover
For anyone else who is having the same problem: Apparently the program has a problem when your temporary folder in IE contains any file names with a blank. The solution is to clear your cache of all temporary files. Then you can go back to opening files directly from myhands. To clear your cache, do the following: Click on "Tools, Internet Options." Then, click "Delete files" under the temporary files box (in General). When the delete box pops up, also click the "delete offline content" box and hit ok... this will fix it.
