Just goes to show how difficult it can be even with all 52 cards in view. Virtually impossible to find at the table. Roland well obviously i believe you, but it sure looks right heheh... ok, time out i'll look again ok, i see south can exit a heart on my line and i have no spades left (should have peeked at helene's)... so win the heart, lead a spade to the ace.. partner returns a heart, ducked to declarer.. now when he runs diamonds i can toss 2 spades, a club and a heart.. he has ♣AQT9 and i have ♥JT and ♣KJ.. i have 2 tricks with 3 to come... i can't even imagine setting 3nt i think :( Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Now South is endplayed. If East pitches correctly when declarer runs his diamonds, the defence must come to 5 tricks. In the 4-card ending, declarer will have ♣AQ109, East ♥J10 and ♣KJ. If East ducks at trick one, he is the one who will get endplayed after all the diamonds are cashed. In order to keep his heart winners and clubs guarded, he must throw his three spades, and then declarer has no spade loser. He exits with ♥K. East can cash his four heart winners but must then lead away from ♣KJ into South's tenace. I predict that no human will find the correct defence at the table, so one can understand that Blofeld made his contract. Maybe he will reveal which defence he actually got. I thought it unlikely that West had the A), and I won the small heart return, ran my diamonds, and exited with a heart. the club return gave me my 9th trick. THEN throw LHO in the lead with a small diamond. The endplay either gets you to the dummy - a spade exit, or rolls up the club suit - play club jack from the table.
