Walddk
♠ KQ1084♥ J95♦ A5♣ AK7 Another hand from the Nordic Championships. Women: Denmark v Finland. First in hand, opps are silent. You play a 12-14 NT, so you open 1♠. Partner responds 2♦ (standard, forcing for one round). What do you bid next? Roland
pigpenz
if we play 2nt shows extra values i will bid that, if 2nt shows min hand then i would bid 3nt
mike777
2nt(15-17), planning on rebidding 4nt (invite) over 3nt and 4H kickback over 3D rebid.
luke warm
2nt can't be (i don't think) a minimum hand, it must be as mike said, 15-17 or so... if it was minimum, why not open 1nt?
luis
2 spades. If I have to choose between faking a 6 card suit with KQT84 or faking a heart stopper with J95 I prefer to fake the sixth spade.
han
Never got used to so-called "standard systems", when I learned to play bridge they were almost extinct. I like to bid a catch-all 2S, is that part of the system?
pigpenz
the problem is you are playing a weak no trump system so the rebid of 2nt and 3nt has to have some type of meaning, fast arrival ,slow arrival, etc. also i have never seen it to be too much of a problem having a stopper in every suit when opening one trump or two notrump, yes on more delicate type of auctions
the hog
This is an impossible question to answer as we need to know what 2S and 2NT mean in the system being played. As a conjecture: Playing a weak NT, the 2NT rebid should show a balanced hand with 15-17, which is exactly what I have so 2NT it is; why lie and show a 6th S with 2S? pclayton
Since I'm playing in some 'trials', I would think I have a grip on the system and can bid a nice, forcing 2N. Over 3C, 3D. Over 3D, 3D, 4C. Over 3H, 3N (slowly lol). These nice controls can produce 12 tricks opposite the right minimum where 3N may have no play. Walddk
2NT would show 15-17 (game forcing after a 2-o-1 response), 3NT 18-19 as the ladies play. 2♠ would also be forcing (1 round), because there is a force to 2NT after 2/1 according to their methods. Sorry for not being specific in my initial post. Roland

ochinko
2 spades. If I have to choose between faking a 6 card suit with KQT84 or faking a heart stopper with J95 I prefer to fake the sixth spade. You don't get more balanced than 5332 when you got a 5 card suit. I'd fake a 6 card if I had a singleton somewhere, or 2 small hearts. Here I fake a heart stopper. After all, I got one half of it B) Petko
