We and They in pairs games

In the Main Bridge Club, when playing IMPs or MPs, why do we need both a We and They score? Their score is always the inverse of our score. In IMPs it's just the opposite sign, and in MPs it's the difference from 100%. I think most just care about their own scores, so the We line would be sufficient.

 

And even in team games, what we usually care about is the IMP difference, rather than the raw IMP scores, although the latter is useful to tell how swingy it's been.
