message blocking

Recommended Posts

I had cause to call the Director during a tournament recently and received a ruling in my favour.

After the tourney I was bombarded with private chat from one of my opponents (from the table where the director was called).

The simple solution was to simply make this person an enemy so that all chat from him would be bounced in future. However, when I next logged in, I found a message had been left for me by the same player.

I'd prefer not to have any further communication with this person and think it would be logical to bar the sending of messages to people who have designated you an enemy.

easiest thing to do it just what you did mark them down as enemies and then you dont have to worry seeing anything they try to send you. Been there done that, it works

if i'm reading the OP correctly, he has marked this person as an enemy. live messages are blocked, but it sounds like enemies are still able to send offline messages. if that is true, i can certainly understand the frustration as it makes blocking enemy chat somewhat pointless.

I think that what he wants (and I agree) is an option to block individuals, my enemies are many times not real enemies, just people that I don't want to play with but I have no problem at all in chatting with them. On the other hand I'd like to block some players that send me annoying messages without making them enemies.

I second that. We need an "idiot" designation separate from the enemy designation. Enemies should not be able to communicate at all with you where as idiots can communicate. However, both should be forbidden from inviting you to play in tournaments. Right now, somebody invites you to play in a tourney and the dialog box is model and you can't even go investigate what comment you've given to this person or whether they are an enemy or not.

true, i had it happen once where this person kept sending me messages all the time cause i said something after they had made a bid and marked them with a club....they still kept sending messages, finally i said its over with get a life you made a bad call what else can i say, but it did drag out about 3 weeks before they finally gave up.

So yes sometimes the enemy list is just people you wouldnt want to play with and other times it other reasons.
