luke warm
i'd prefer not to be vulnerable, but i'm passing anyway....

LH2650
2 spades - what I would have bid over partner's 1 spade in an uncontested auction. My negative doubles are much too aggressive to consider pass or 2 notrump.
mikeh
I have 3 flawed choices, which I rank as pass, 2♥ and 2♠. I reject 2♠ because of the weak 3 card holding and the likelihood that partner will be overrruffed in ♦. Also, partner will assume that I hold 4 and thus a differently shaped hand and may get carried away. 2♠ works if he holds 5+. 2♥ is the default bid with most hands, thus clear if I were 3=5=3=2 foe example. BTW, 2♥ has the added benefit that he can bid 2♠ with a 6 card suit: pass may end up looking very silly if he holds something like KQxxxx xx x Jxxx. But this is mps, and frequency of gain rules, not size of gain. I expect to beat 2♦ more often than not. If we beat it 1, then maybe we cannot make a partial, and if we beat it 2, I expect a top... since we probably cannot make game in that case. If we beat it 3 and lose to 600's or 620's that is life! Vulnerability does not matter much, but knowing my opps might (esp if they are sound vul bidders)
Double !
Passnot thrilled with converting X to penalties but, at this point, the hand looks to be misfit, we have half of the deck (I hope) so it might be easier to defend than to declare.
