I was lucky to be south on both deals and lucky to make both contracts (I am not fully sure of E-W distribution). On first deal I was very sure that 2♠ was our best contract, but not very sure that my partner would understand.

 

On the second one instead, given the previous I was fully sure he would understand, but not that it would be the right spot (I risked 200 at MP against nothing), but in the end we got them on both :P

I think on the first one dealer was either West or North, because North opened:

We had the same auction on the second, without the final double (why on earth double when it looks likely to be making?).

 

Making 2Sx twice must have been fun, but conceding 2S undoubled was a virtual zero for us, so their double didn't cost very much.

You are right, North was dealer on first, mypartner passed its 11 4441 and doubled next.
