thepossum
Do you think North is entitled to bid 3 spades here and ignore my polite overtures for clubsI am not proud of how I played it but wasn't highly motivated to care much I appreciate maybe my bidding isn't perfect either but I genuinely didn't feel like going any higher and wasnt confident of No TrumpsI think everything other than clubs makes around 5 tricks [hv=pc=n&s=sh972dkj96cakqj75&n=skt643ht85dact832&d=e&v=n&b=2&a=p1cp1sp3c(6%2B%20clubs%2C%20not%20many%20spades%2C%20strongish)p3s(rebiddable%20spades%20and%20not%20that%20many%20points%2C%20forcing)pp(misfit%20and%20partner%20has%20lots%20of%20spades)p]266|200[/hv] Note the Human (me) is South
pescetom
No I don't think he is entitled to bid 3S (or anything else, if this is MP).
helene_t
I think it's ok, there's a reasonably chance that 5♣ makes if you don't have a spade fit. And maybe you can systematically stop in 4♣.

helene_t
I was worried about bidding 4 but it does make 4 so 5-1 or 6-2 are not bad outcomesI don't think 4♠ is a good bid - 3♠ may be explained as "rebidable spades" but if they are really good enough to play opposite a void, the robot can bid them a 3rd time. You can't pass, though, as 3♠ is forcing. As it happened, North had a very marginal 3♠ bid, but there is no reason why it couldn't have 20 points. I think I would bid 4♣. 4♦ may be better but I am not sure what it means, it might be a control bid agreeing spades. 3NT is also an option. pescetom
I still think 3S is a clear overbid and as South I have to respect the force, so either 4D or a punt of 3N.As N I would pass 3C, but a raise to 4 is very close.
