jillybean
If you are playing (3x) X as take out I expect a strong hand with support for the other suits, invitational + , or a single suit too strong to bid at the 3or4 level

euclidz
Thanks . . . I took it as a hand with opening points 0, 1 or max of 2 small clubs and the other suits.

Reasonable, the more you stray from this, the bigger hand you need (what are you going to do with a balanced 27 with 3 clubs ?) The auction you need to discuss is 3♣-X-P-3/4♥-P-3/4♠ as to whether this can just be ♦/♠ and not show extra values.
