helene_t
On a couple of occasions I have seen the basic robots pass a 1NT opening holding a 4441. I sent robot reports. I don't know if it will ever Stayman on weak hands. Probably not, since 2♣...2♥ is invitational. But with 4441 there is no reason not to use Stayman. pilowsky
I've had the robots use GS on at least two occasions. But it comes up very rarely - <= 8hcp and 4441.

helene_t
KQ8 AJ7 94 KQ963 ? Ha-ha, once my p had something like this except he had an extra ace which he overlooked when counting points, so 2♦-1 when everyone else had 3NT=. pescetom
I did play GS and Crawling when we played a traditional 4 card Stayman, but I found GS gave mixed results (no big deal in itself, but doing damage to partnership confidence when it screwed up) and partner was prone to forgetting Crawling (too many years of invitational). With a 5 card Stayman, GS has become a partnership favourite (basically a transfer to the 2D the rest of the field cannot play, even the occasional 2M in 5-2 is often good MP too). smerriman
GIB only trots this out with precisely 4450, never 4441.

Which is 0.2% of all hands as I recall, and then less to restrict the HCP. We cheerfully GS with any 5+D and 2+ majors.
Jyrki_63
Which is 0.2% of all hands as I recall, and then less to restrict the HCP. We cheerfully GS with any 5+D and 2+ majors. With my regular partner I do the same. But we play Puppet Stayman, so 2H/S to a 2C query shows a 5-carder. Works quite well when you can GS with all bad hands with 2+ in both majors and 5+D (if the quacks and pips suggest it may be prudent).
