How high this time?

Wow!! What a hand!

One of the things that I have learned over the years is that there is not necessarily and one "right" bid with freaks like this one.

I can see arguements for a wide number of bids however, my two top choices are 2C and 4NT.

In this case, given the vulnerability, a psyche isn't that appealing.

Mark me down for 2C. I plan on reversing into Diamonds at my next opportunity.

There are simply too many hands that make slam for me to bid an immediate 4NT.

Hi all,

I agree with Richard that there are too many hands where there is slam.

So I bid 4 NT and raise pds choice...

Of course, this is just a guess. Maybe there is not even a game at either direction ore maybe we are all cold for a grand slam.

But anyway, I have not much majors, so maybe they have them. So I better raise the bidding very very quick, which makes it much harder for them to find their best spot.

Kind Regards

Roland

I agree with Richard, my bid is 2CL too, but my rebid will be different. I will rebid my CL 1 level more than opps. I will not show my DI, unless my p bid.

But it is a psyche too Richard :).

As many have said there is no cast-iron guarantee action with this type of hand. The full deal, and bidding in our room, was:

IMPS; Board 9; EW Game; Dealer North

North

KJ87542

AKJ3

8

8

West East

T96 -

T9765 -

QT2 KJ9763

K4 AQJT975

South

AQ3

Q842

A54

632

West North East South

1S 3C 4C

Pass 4NT Pass 5S

Pass 6S All Pass

East should have done more and lost 13 IMPs for his actions.

I suggest that 2C bidders will next be bidding over Blackwood (1S-2C-3C-P-4NT) and N-S are going to bid to 6S forcing the 7C sacrifice - given that most of us are able to show two aces over most Blackwood interfence.

The 4NT bidders give South a problem. If South doubles West could bid 6C and there is a chance that you will play there.

So, on this occasion, I suggest that 4/5NT works better.

Now to wait for the next 7-6 hand

:)
