Because if I was given a visible notice, perhaps with a sound, or anything more than an easily missed box at the corner of the screen, I would not suddenly find myself logged off of a tournament that I paid for, with no way to reconnect. But that doesn't really help anyone with the secondary topic about a warning being before booted from timed events, unless the advice is that you'll get a response if you post it in a new thread..
