thorvald
[hv=d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1hp1sp1np?]133|100[/hv] I thought that GIB was playing New Minor Forcing (https://www.bridgebu...nor_forcing.php) but I clicked on 2♦ and it was explained as: 4+♦. 2-♥, 4+♠, 8+ total points, but being unlimited I assumed it was forcing for at least one round. It was not, so probably there was missing a max on the total points. Only made 13 tricks. That is OK with me, but I think the explanation of 2♦, should have had an upper bound on points then.
helene_t
This is a general problem with unlimited yet nonforcing GIB calls. That a call doesn't have an upper limit by no means implies that it is forcing in Giberish. As long as it isn't explicitly forcing and the lower bound is not enough to guarantee some 26+ combined HCP, GIB will often pass it.
pescetom
GIB plays it like the vast majority of BW pollees.I read the comments in that thread as saying that the majority would not play 1 way NMF with an unpassed hand, unlike GIB.The poll did not allow this to emerge. But the poll wording was specifically about IF you play NMF, what do the bids here mean, which is exactly what the question here was. My point was just that "the vast majority of BW" would not play basic NMF here anyway.
thepossum
I clearly misunderstood NMF I find it remarkable that I and so many other players manage to get to the/a correct/reasonable contract such a high percentage of the time
