At trick 8 it is seen that South had a single ♣.

Well no, that's a side effect of the real issue, which is that it considers your first example impossible (or at least, extremely unlikely), due to having *two* more spades than promised.

 

Having made that assumption the finesse is an obvious play, so no secondary issues there.

I think renaming the player as 'human' or whatever would normally be sufficient. But if she is well known or there are elements that permit people to locate the board in myhands then I would ask permission too.

I do not understand GIB declarer play here whatsoever! At trick 2 it plays a ♠. Why? Something is very wrong with the program if it does not know that you set up tricks in your longest suit first in a NT contract is first priority.
