South is guaranteed a second diamond from the 1NT bid, and West would have led low from JT76, so declarer doesn't have doubleton KQ. So no layouts exist where it's important to lead a diamond now. But this is the only time we'll be on lead, and there may be a need to lead a heart through declarer. thepossum Posted September 29, 2022 Author Report Share Posted September 29, 2022 Ok then�� Looking at the hand I am rather upset that partner didn't ask me for my majors but I can't really complain about that. 1NT seems a reasonable contract but so does game It must be inflation 17+8 isn't what it used to be Apologies I can't get anything to bid with 8 points opposite a strong NT. My mistake Will check a sim. Maybe it doesn't stack up well EDIT Apologies to GiB. Its only 8 tricks with very big variance EDIT 2 but its a 54% chance of game if I have the maximum. Hmmmm.
