Advancer double

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

1 p p (1)

2 X*

[hv=d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1cpp1s2cdppp]133|100[/hv]

a.- Penalty or responsive?

b.-Do you thing it is standar or parnership agreement?

A major would be different?

1 p p (2)

2 X*

c.- Same meaning?

d.- If takeout double

1 p p (X)

2 X*

[hv=d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1dppd2dd]133|100[/hv]

d.- Is it a clear penalty double or Responsive still has some value, Would be standar or up to parnerdship agreements?

"Above" would have change the meaning? Is there any standard meaning?

1 (1) p p

2 p p X?

[hv=d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1c1spp2cppd]133|100[/hv]

e.- Penalty or Responsive?

Thnak you very much,

Kind Regards,

I'd say all except (1)-P-(P)-X; (2)-X are penalties. On that particular auction partner hasn't shown a suit and may well be 4-3 in the majors either way. On the other ones the focus is on supporting partner. If we have no support, no biddable suit and not length and strength in the opponents' suit we may as well be silent (or some people may have 2NT natural available).

the question isnt sharp enaught !

are the original pass is have nothing to propose and may haave an opening with a 5+ cards club ?

are the 1 s weak just to reopen the biding

not my idea but i am for off shape double so

East by passing have lesss then 14HCP and nothing good to overcall 1 Club

1 spade isnt a weak overcall but almost good enaught to make a T/o double

so the double of east is a transfer to diamond .

i know i am not binary

East may have support for spade

many case and many question

I dont think there is a standard defense

I think goren have make some foundation on defenseive bid about overcall and T/O Double

The Michael cue bid and Leaping Michel came later

part of some biding system have a long list of defensive biding

there exist a defense biding called Laurel and Hardy that almost none heard of

I have no idea who invented the off shape double

the comic NT

A strong 2NT promising 2 unbid suit 5+ each and a maximum of 4 1/2 loser

Weak jump overcall

Strong jump overcall

CRASH

truscot defense to strong club

Canape in defense

whatevwer system of defense you chose the set of answer of partner must be clear

for example

1 X Pass 3

X an off shape double ( 2+ cards 14+ HCP

3 7+ to 10 HCP with 6+ cards

how you Advence Overcall is aan agrrement between partner

in general you need to give partner 4 trick to raise his overcall (3 if Vulnerable)

for a my anser is double a transfer to Diamond

for b i already answered

c : double is interest in penalty 1 -2 cards heart "weak hand "(expcting to make 5 trick in defense ) and long spade

with suport to heart I bid 3(4 or more trick) or 3 (1 to 3 trick)

d : no penalty but 2- free suit of 4 cards 7-10 HCP I asumepartner double have 14+ HCP

if i passed with 13 point and a long and partner double is balancing with a 8+ count then it will be penalitie

e : is very intersting you have nothing to say on your partner overcall ?

and mow you want partner to raise spade to penalize oponet for biding 2 club ?

so i have no answer on e
