Terrible explanation, and I should have ignored it

I Opened 1♠ in third hand and after the T/O double (Showing 4+♥, 3+♣, 3+♦ and 11 HCP) of 1N I bid 2♠.

 

Now West Doubled showing biddable ♠ and at most 3♥ and 10 HCP - seems to be a penalty double

 

East jumped to ♣ showing 4+♦, 4+♥ and biddable ♣

 

I had to pass

 

West bid 3♦, and now North found the time right to bid 3♥ showing 2♠, 10-11 HCP and forcing to 3N

 

I was out of options

 

3N would show extra

 

3♠, when West had doubled me in 2♠ also looked bad

 

Could North have 4♥?

 

What should i do?

 

 

Finally I bid 3♠, hoping to get out there, but North bid 4♠ - but as usual no penalty double

So Pass was the right bid here, and I was close, and just an indication of showing ♥ in the explanation would have convinced me
