13 tricks are on but you only want to be in 6. Form of scoring may matter, if 5 is not potentially going to score well, you may do it differently

Our auction at IMPs:

1N (12-24)-2(spades)

2-3

4-4(kickback)

4(2 without Q)- and now you're guessing, if S has the same hand with 3 small spades slam may well be very poor, Jxx or Kxx is fine however, you know S has Kxxx, A and 5-7 other points.

It is your system that lacks. If you use a artificial system and are not prepared for the opps. to bid, and do not have clear definitions of what your bids mean after the opps. intervene, then that is where the problem is. If after North has bid 3, and South has bid 3 and that does not set up a GF, then you are always going to guess the final contract. How many pairs play in 4m as a final contract when 3NT or 5m (even 6m) are the places to be? I hope you agree.

So after 3 - 3 then 4 should be still be forcing from North. Whether you can still reach 6 from there is still a question mark, but by North bidding 5 after 3 that is terminal as a stop bid.

Our auction at IMPS would be something like:

(p) - 1(2+) - (1) - 1(5+)

1NT - 2NT(puppet)

3(obliged) - 3(5 spades 5 clubs)

4(fix) - 4(control)

4(control) - 4(control)

4NT(even keycards) - 5(control, deny)

5NT(Q deny, deny) - 6

p

The overcall was 2 not 1, I would fit jump over it

i agree that North leap to 5 Club was an error

he should bid 3 spade over 3H then south can decide to show King of heart or use RKCB

And there is to add that N has a 5-5, four honors in on the line for +2 points and the hand is in the fourth range about the answer. Fourthemore if partner has not the K the Q is in favoureable position for a finesse.

SPREAD IS NOT MY SYSTEM

I am making some research on the system and defense againts it

my knowledge on the system come from a book on the net

Spread link // http://www.users.on.net/~mabraham/systems/SPREAD/index.html /

the book notes on interference are confusing !!!

I was playing on tournament trying diferent system of biding with Partner who are friend .

and only after years i found out that interference are the real problem .

the defense biding was also a bit of a problem .

for the pure fun i was making a "sike" overcall sometime it worked somtime it backfire.

after discovering Rubensol my partner and me were able to go to slam after interference over 1 NT

1 NT 2X 3 pass

4 pass 4NT pass

??/ pass 6

and made it
