Cyberyeti
[hv=pc=n&n=sa3hkq963daj852ca]133|100[/hv] You might have to bid in any of the following auctions (round the table) 5♣-P-4♣-P-1♣-P-1♥-3♠-4♣-4♠-1♣-P-1♥-3♠-4♣-5♠-1♣-P-1♥-3♠-5♣-5♠-1♣-P-1♥-3♠-5♣-P- Dealt in practice, so assume vul is not opps only, but say if it makes a difference. apollo1201
A bit tough because vulnerability will clearly affect what to expect from the preempt. IMPs vs MPs too, but clearly less. The player who opens 5C vul vs not will on average have 2 more tricks than not vul vs vul. Facing QJ 8th and out or KQ 8th + the HA make some difference. And probably due to language barrier, not sur to understand « vul is not opps only »: - we can’t be green and them red - only opps are not vul Both situations would tend to make the preempts a little sounder maybe, so probably raising 4 to 5 and 5 to 6. In the other sequences, pass is not clearly forcing, so given partner managed to find enough points to open the bidding, we are clearly going to slam. 5NT might help find the grand but partner can still have - xx KQx KQJ8th. I meant it is not us green them red. so either equal or only us vul.

I know there are color codes for that but never managed to get them properly (like amber or sth?).
TylerE
In the real world, I think I'm pretty much always bidding 6c on all of these.
Cyberyeti
In the real world, I think I'm pretty much always bidding 6c on all of these. I know I'm bidding 4♦ kickback over 4♣, but was looking for practical ideas on the others, the second question is if you bid 6♣ and they bid 6♠ green v red, do you think about anything other than X particularly when partner passes to show a first round spade control and willingness to cooperate ?
