Show People/Friends Registered vs. Online

Recommended Posts

Currently, until their game starts, People who Registered and waiting to Play in an upcoming game are listed as being "Online".

It would be very helpful when looking for a Partner to join a game that is starting soon to be able to see the status of People/Friends as already "Registered" rather than simply "Online".

Often you waste time Inviting them, then waiting for them to accept, only to get a reply declining the invite because they are registered and waiting to play with another player.

Worse, if they don't reply immediately (away from the keyboard), you wait in vain, miss the start of the game you could have entered with another Friend on the list.

Worse still, they will often sign up at the Partnership Desk and then refuse all invites, to the point that the Desk no longer serves its intended function.

All of this has been pointed out many times over the years, in vain.

A possibly better way to achieve the same goal:

A current feature could extended to detect time conflicting tournaments. As it stands, when you invite a player already registered in the same tournament, the software declines the invitation, without notifying the invited player, and you are notified that the player is on another team. When the invited player is not registered in that tournament, the software could then check if either player is registered in a tournament with a time conflict and decline the invitation if so.

For example, I invite a player to a Speedball but that player is already registered in the 18 board starting 10 minutes later. The software would detect the time conflict and decline my invitation.
