mr1303
3 card support, but without an honour. 2H would promise a top honour here for me.
Chamaco
I think 2 reasonable treatments: a. takeout oriented, some H toleranceb. cooperative/penalty oriented, usually a hand that could not act previously because of club length. Does not necessarily have a diamond stack
Guest Jlall
takeout with heart tolerance, partner most likely had a trap pass of clubs (but not necessarily).
SoTired
looks like snapdragon to me, spades with heart tolerance
Al_U_Card
3 Hearts to a top honor. bidding 2H would be 3 H pieces. Any q-bid would be a good hand with 3 H pieces.

ochinko
For me, partner had a trap pass over 1C, but doesn't like to play 2D, and can't support hearts, so I expect a distribution like 4=2=2=5, or 4=2=3=4 but with good club honors. Strictly speaking the double can't be takeout, since there is only one suit left - the spades, but it's not a penalty either. Partner is saying "I have some points + values in clubs, no heart fit, so I don't have a convenient bid for fighting for the part score. I expect you to do something intelligent, although I know you well enough..." :P Petko
luke warm
i hate that bid, it confuses me a little.. at the table i'd take it as showing clubs with Hx or (H)xx in hearts
beatrix45
 Take out with a heart tolerance. I'm being dragged, kicking and screaming into the 21st century. God, how I hate it.
inquiry
I play this as puff.... the angry dragon... so angry that he will snap at you.
Double !
Is puff angry because he/she didn't overcall 1 spade to start with?
Echognome
Spades weren't good enough to overcall. Maybe headed by the Q or J. By the way, Since I play fit jumps by advancer, this only shows tolerance to me. Hx in hearts in particular.
Double !
well, if the partnership agreement is to play snapdragon (which is a plant. Does that make it a flower bid?), then i think the dbl is just that. If no such agreement has been made, then it sound like a hand that has values but not enough in terms of cards, suit value, or shape to have acted over 1 puppy track but insufficient support to raise (♥ hahts (spent most of life in Boston area/ lolololol). Gerben42
Mike Lawrence has this defined as a Lawrence double, i.e. fit and lead me, where a direct raise would be fit but don't lead me.
Double !
:D Take out with a heart tolerance. I'm being dragged, kicking and screaming into the 21st century. God, how I hate it. Heck. I'm still adjusting to the 20th century. Like I say, I am a bidding dinosaur. I went down in cold contract last night and partner dragged me into cave and clubbed me into submission. No, do not ask what I submitted to. You don't want to know.
