Using handviewer link to replay deals

I often want to look at deals in my history and replay them, seeing the GIB double dummy analysis at each step. I can do that by

exporting the deal to the handviewer link. There is no problem there. The strange thing is that after I do one deal , it won't do any more. I have to exit BBO and sign in again in order to access another deal. I don't understand why it would work in such a fashion and wonder if I am doing something wrong, or if there is a way around it.

You might want to provide some more exact details of what "it won't do any more" means. It works fine for me, so only a step by step list of exactly what you're doing, what you see, what you expected to see in each step can help debug.

I login to BBO, go to the deal that I want, click on the three lines, click on Export, click on Handviewer link, click on the web address which appears on the page,

and I get the deal, which I can replay. Everything is fine. I then close the Handviewer link, and repeat the process for another deal. But this time, when I click on the web address for the Handviewer link, nothing at all happens. The deal just doesn't appear. But if I exit BBO and log in again, it works fine just as it did at first.

The link opens a named window. This means the first time you export it, it will open a new tab / window / whatever. But future clicks will reuse the same one rather than open a second page.

So if you've exported a hand but didn't close it, go back and check the window that hand exported to - you'll probably find it has loaded there with the new information.

When I do what OP describes the second deal replaces the first deal in the tab that was opened (as you say).

Unless I right click on the link and select 'open in new tab'.

Then I get both.

In either case it never fails to work the second time - which seems to be what is described in the post.

Same thing happens when I use the app on my phone.

Mac Desktop with Firefox

OK. I just opened BBO on my Mac desktop using Firefox.

It works the same as Chrome.

If you export >> handviewer link >> then click on the URL (https://tinyurl.com/......) that appears, it opens the link in a new tab.

If you go back and find another hand to look at but Right click on the URL you get a menu that lets you do various other things including "Open Link in New Tab".

If you do it that way the other hand will stay open in the original tab.

Great! Thank you. The Right click is the secret. I never thought of that since right clicks on a Mac are rare. Now it all works.
