Computer generated hands you're playing in an event which is team scored. What's your plan in the bidding? If you want to offer up some alternatives, I'll do my best to tell you what the other 3 seats at the table would do in the continuation. mike777
4sThe bidding may not be over yet B). This will give my partner a chance to bid 4nt.

Echognome
Mike - 4♠ will be passed out. If you are playing Namyats, would you choose the stronger 4♠ preempt or the weaker? Luke Warm - Laugh. Partner won't pass you out. It will go 3♥ on your left and 2 passes to you. Partner's pass is forcing (so you shouldn't pass that either B) ). I'm also not sure that 2♣ would be allowed in England on this hand if meant to show a strong hand.

I would choose the version that Vul vs NOT shows solid spades and no outside values.

mike777
no, partner could have bid 4nt or jump to 5s or bid 6s. I guess he wants to play the hand.
Guest Jlall
pass...the "free" bid doesnt show anything, we are already forced to 4S. He is just saying it would be better to be played from his side.
pclayton
Start with Namyats and freely continue with 5S. If pard makes any kind encoraging noise like the example auction I bid 4N and lament the fact I'm playing rkcb. Another idea is to open the hand with 4N if that's ace asking. MickyB
2♣ and hope it isn't passed out If 2♣ is passed out then the opps have a combined 30 count, I think you should be perfectly happy if it is passed out ;) I'm opening 4♦ then shutting up. Chamaco
Opposite unpassed pard, I open this a Namyats. If we do not play namyats, I'll open 1S, unlikely to be passed out. If pard is PASSED HAND, then I open 4S.
Free
If you play the aweful convention that 4NT is ace-asking - do it! ;) I open this 1♠...
ochinko
If you play the aweful convention that 4NT is ace-asking - do it! ;) I open this 1♠...1Sp for me too. If there is one suit with which you don't want to rush the bidding, it is the Boss Suit. I remember a remark by a Viewgraph comentator, something like "It took me 20 years to learn not to open 4Sp." :) Petko

Gerben42
4♦ for me then pass 4♠. 2♣ is crazy even if it is intended of a psyche. I'd prefer 1NT or something.
scoob
with my reg p we open this 2♣ showing 9+ tricks in ♠, relays from there with a pickup i open 1♠

He is just saying it would be better to be played from his side. Hi Justin, I am not sure I buy, that we are forced to play 4S.If the stronger version went through 4D, I would agree, but since it is the weaker version, ... no way. This will lead to a bloodbath more often, than I am willing to pay, and they will kill us. Of course, I dont understand, why the stronger version should kill more room than the weaker, why this should be better. But this is another thread. East lead the "obvious" heart and partner wrapped up 13 tricks. Spades were 2-1 with singleton King. Only one pair in the room bid the slam. Not sure it's easy to get there actually.
