euclidz
I have, in the past, seen tables described as 'Teaching' and I have kibbed at least once and seem to recall the 'teacher' speaking i.e. voice not text . . . how is that done, is that something that has to be paid for? pilowsky
If you start a teaching table there is a free option to communicate by "voice".The quality was not great when I tried it in the past but I may have been unlucky.Zoom/Skype is easier.

pilowsky
Under "play or watch bridge"Click "Practice"Then "Start a teaching table"Then "Start table".After you seat players/robots there is a button at the bottom labelled "voice"click that and a box comes up allowing you to add speakers.Takes a bit of messing about. It's in the "main Bridge Club" in casual. If you "friend" your friends they can click on your name and "join" the table or sit at it if you change the settings to allow them to sit or kibbitz.
ThomasRush
Thanks - I did that and it seemed successful but I don't know where the table is i.e. in which 'Club' is that table - how do my group of learners find that table? When you create the table, you can assign a person to each seat, and they get an invite when you start the table. If you know who you want sitting where, that's usually easiest. Thomas. paulg
You can also put +video+ in the teaching table description and use video instead of the speech function - https://news.bridgebase.com/2021/04/14/how-to-join-video-chat-in-tournaments/ It is easiest to try this on your own to see if you have permission to use this feature. If not, then ask support for it to be enabled.
pilowsky
Can you clarify what you mean by "put +video+ in the teaching table description".There is a space for "description" when starting a table.Do you mean type +video+ in that space or something else? You should also reserve places for the other players so that they see the video options too. I don't think people who jump into a seat will see it.

diana_eva
Video at regular table setting is a bit experimental and not available by default except for virtual club managers (they may need it to test the video or help players to finetune their camera and microphone before a game). We can grant access on demand, but it's clunky and kinda beta-testing phase. It works, but it's not intuitive how to use it.
