on trick 4 Gib plays small when playing the J♠ would force the King.

Sure it didn't matter but costs nothing to play correctly

Such "rules" are useful crutches because we are not algorithms.

I imagine the information available is sufficient to deduce (with due time and means) that it doesn't matter: in that case GIB randomizes.

Maybe, I'm no student of GIB; I just read here more than once that it randomizes from cards that it knows to be equals.

West most likely hasQ♠ K♥ Q♦....but you are right it would be nice

if GIB did was is normal but GIB never does
