adamw
When starting a regular individual tournament (i.e., not a robot tournament) BBO posts a message that includes this sentence: "No chat is allowed, and every player agrees to play 2/1." Which version of 2/1 is this? Is there a convention card for it? Is it "BBO Advanced (2/1=GF)"?
steve2005
I believe you are supposed to play GIB 2/1A cc is available in account/convention cards
pilowsky
Here's a link to the system notes which are more comprehensive than the card. https://bit.ly/GIBsystemThey represent (to some extent) what the robots play but are unlikely to represent what others do in an individual. adamw
Thanks for the replies! This situation seems untenable to me. Why would one play when partner might or might not be using the same system? Shouldn't BBO at least make the message "…every player agrees to play GIB 2/1" ? Shouldn't BBO at least make the message "…every player agrees to play GIB 2/1" ?Would it help? I haven't played one of these for a long time, but if I recall correctly most people tended to just bid whatever they like whether related to 2/1 or not. Individuals aren't the best choice of tournament if you're looking to have agreements with partner.

barmar
Why would one play when partner might or might not be using the same system? That's the inherent nature of individual tournaments. No matter what we announce, people can do whatever they want.
