  1. 1. Do you like challenges?

Registration has closed. Pools will be announced within the next day or two.

Let's do another one of these.

IMPs, best-hand, with registration closing Friday 22nd, 11:59pm Eastern Time.

Register via the poll above.

This is a forum event based on friend challenges. You will be playing challenges against other members in a round robin / knockout format No prizes, just fun. To prove you are capable of creating/accepting challenges, if you have never played in a challenge event before, send me an 8-board best-hand IMP challenge. I will accept promptly - you must complete the challenge before expiry to prove you are capable of participating. (If you've competed in any previous forum challenge event, voting in the poll suffices). See previous event threads for an idea of how it works and the overall timeframe. Deadlines will be based on an average of 4 16-board challenges per week.

2 days to go.

When originally posting the thread, I accidentally forgot to add the #nofeed tag which ensures the post doesn't show up in the BBO news feed. I edited it in but it was there for 2 days, thus all of the new names you'll see.

Last time this occurred (event 7 or so), a lot of people registered but never returned to the forum and ended up dropping out, messing everything up.

To ensure this doesn't happen again, newcomers who correctly registered were PMed 4 days ago to confirm they'll be returning to the forum to participate. None of them have responded yet, but will give them up until just after the deadline to check in, otherwise I might need to exclude them.

I never received a challenge from you based on the rules in the first post so I didn't have you on the list. But I'll make an exception and add you in.

I play challenges every day, so I didn't realize that I still had to prove that I was able to create one.

That's OK, I'll add you in - that was really there to ensure people read the rules and didn't just vote on the poll without realising what they were registering for.

Tx!

What are the rules? :)

I mean: How is it organized?: Will you give a schedule of when we have to play who, will you simply challenge every one in a list and keep our own scores,....?

Thanks again!!

I have a few (unimportant) questions and a suggestion:

- What is info you have in your excel in tab <seeding>? Is that linked to my level?: 22 kgr 9 0.171461

- I assume I can invite in any order, but will go left to right.

- Do unfinished challenges ever happen? (If yes, I would suggest to add the IMP score only if it is negative for the player who did not finish in time)

1) It's extremely basic and mostly meaningless, but based on results of the previous 22 challenge events, of which you haven't played any.

2) Yup, as cherdano mentioned above some people challenge those near them on the list, though there's no specific constraints, as if people have too many challenges they can simply reject some.

3) They're very rare and there's basically no excuse for them happening. Scores will be adjusted if necessary.
