johnu Posted September 21, 2021 Report Share Posted September 21, 2021 Excellent play by GIB East to return to hand with a club instead of a trump after playing to the ♦K. A nice discovery play to find out if clubs were 6-0 and that it wouldn't be a good idea to try to set up clubs. And I can't fault the drawing of 2 more rounds of trump. Clearly, when it is running diamonds, it has triple squeeze "in mind".In the 6-card ending, dummy leaves ♠A,♥Jx,♣Axx, with hand ♠QJx,♥K,♣Kx, and N cannot keep guards in 3 suits. If N gives up club length, the last club in dummy would finish a classical criss-cross major squeeze.If N gives up hearts, then ♥K drops the ♥Q, spade to ♠A and ♥J continues the black suit squeeze.If N gives up spades, ♠K is dropped and hand is good.
