But at another table East opened 2♦ and NS ended up in 4♣+2. Not sure our defence against multi would have done much better, probably leading to 3NT+. How would your partnership bid as NS, given the multi opening?
Cyberyeti
2♦-X (13-15 bal ish or BIG)-2♥(P/C)-P-2♠-3♣(big hand)-P now not sure what N should do, he is too good for 3N, maybe 3♦ which works well and leads to 6♦, maybe 4N (nat) which leads to 6♣.

pescetom
We play 2♥ and 2♠nat over a multi We play in S as if we knew E has a weak 2♠, which often works well but has the downside that S loses the chance to bid a natural 2♠. Not a lot of help here, however.

But CHO passed and luckily RHO too.
apollo1201
 X-opening bid in a Major--19-21 balanced--19+ 3-suitedWell, you play multi against multi😅😅 I guess here with partner I’d X (13-15 bal or 19+), and partner bids 3NT over LHO pass or correct bid.  Now, I can safely bid 4C, which probably doesn’t thrive partner and she might persist in NT. Oh well, 6C anyway now I know the HK and some D goodies are there? I could try 5D en route to 6C and here it would work. But I’d not dare it undiscussed (forcing or not).
