The free basic bots do a lot more totally weird stuff, but in that case, you get what you pay for and BBO has repeatedly said there are no real plans to fix the basic bots. LBengtsson Posted May 13, 2021 Report Share Posted May 13, 2021 This GIB outsmarted its LHO since playing LHO for ducking with spade Kx? lol!. good human bridge mind will be able to work this out but this is beginners error expecting ♠K to drop from RHO instead of waiting for ♠AQ to be good. maybe the bridge program does not 'see' passive play where exiting a ♦ will lead to ♠AQ being two tricks, and robot goes for immediate drop of ♠K after one finesse as only winning option. if so the programmers need to reboot this feature. Switch spade K to club K and 6C is almost laydown.For human, there are gadgets showing "minors+spades shortness,slam interest"(after 3NT, N would simply bid 4S to show it), and South knows wastage thus stop at 4NT, but for bots, there is no such thing.
