sueorbc
We had 5 tables and I wanted to play a Three quarter Howell with 24 boards. I specified an 8 round Howell with 3 boards per table. However we played a strange movement with each pair playing 4 of the other pairs twice. What did I do wrong please? kenjay
Did you add the command +rounds8+ otherwise it would run as a normal movement with E/W 1 playing N/S 1-5 then 1,2 and 3 again (8 rounds)

diana_eva
What was the host username? Was it a virtual acbl club game or something else ?
sueorbc
It was a virtual club game. vEBU207330
kenjay
Was the vebu club host online at the start or were you added as an additional Director. If so the Howell won't run and will run as an ordinary Mitchell movement of 8 rounds.
diana_eva
What kenjay said. When using howell, keep the vEBUxxx hostname online at start. After the game has started you can log it off, but the BBO system needs host online to "read" whether it has howell access or not. Not all usernames are allowed to run howell movements. sueorbc
The vEBU host was online at the start and remained online throughout. Thank you all for your help. It will remain a mystery.

How does one know whether one has the right to run howell movements?
crazy4hoop
Did the host have the description strings in his or her setup? Is that even required?
