gjfeldman
In the Feb 2 Daylong MP1 tournament, in section 4, the player who finished ABC = 211 got 0.63 MP and I, who finished ABC = 322, got 0.96 MP. How is this possible? I looked for other cases like this and only found one more. In section 44, the player who finished ABC = 211 got 0.63 MP and the player who finished ABC = 422 got 0.67 MP. pilowsky
These are ACBL points. Happens all the time.https://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/83867-how-acbl-strata-work/page__pid__1007167#entry1007167
gjfeldman
I understand about stratification. However in this case, both players are in the C strata. The player in 1st place in the C strata gets 0.63 MP and the player in the 2nd place gets 0.96 MP. It seems to me that there are only two possible explanations: either it is a program bug or there is some substratification going on, possibly involving the overall awards. I suspect the latter. Here is some more information. The player in 1st place has between 200 and 300 BBO points while the player in 2nd place (me) has between 20 and 50 BBO points. Both players are in the top 7% of the tournament.
miamijd
This is very strange. Wasn't just in Sec. 4, either. In Sec. 24, where I was placed: miamijd 67.92 1 0.90mrwolf54 64.19 2 1 1 0.63gkhaughey 60.81 3 2 2 0.67 How is it possible for gkhaughey to be behind mrwolf in the A, B, and C, but still get more ACBL MPs? He would have finished behind mrwolf in every section and in the overalls in each of A, B, and C. So mrwolf's maximum award MUST be greater than gkhaugheys. But yet it isn't. And in Sec. 25: GDL46 58.82 6 3 2 0.27Pragmatic8 56.46 7 4 3 0.34 GDL beat Pragmatic in all flights for both section and overall awards. It is impossible for Pragmatic to get more MPs that GLD> And yet ... BBO needs to look at this.
rstalvey
On Feb. 2, I played Daylong MP 2 (twelve boards $1.35) and finished first in Section 36 with 67.10% and got .90. The second place with 66.39% got 1.20. WE WERE BOTH B STRAT PLAYERS. Ray Stalvey

gjfeldman
See https://www.bridgeba...__1#entry965110 Thanks. This confirms my supposition. In large tournaments, the sectionization of overall awards is independent of sectionization into 15-player sections,
