What's your style?

In Acol, 2 and then 3.

In 2/1 I suppose I have to bid 1, but then I think I'd try 2NT over 2 (wouldn't 3 be fourth suit forcing?)

I bid a direct 3 invitational bid over 1, Jxxx is not a real suit and if pd has 4 hearts and a strong hand he will bid 3. I strongly hate the 1 bid.

After 1 - 3; 3 I bid 3NT.

in sayc I would bid 2C then 3C. In 2/1 I would be forced to start wtih 1H then over pards jump shift I would try 3C

Ditto

Yes 3c is 4th suit, so what, P also knows in 2/1 we may have real longer clubs in a weak hand and should bid with this in mind.

In Acol I would probably begin with 2. Might depend on the sort of Acol. In SAYC or 2/1, I begin with 1.

Next bid: I'm not sure if 2NT would be forcing in Acol if my first bid was 2 (probably depends on the sort of Acol, I think it's forcing in modern Acol and non-forcing is classic Acol). Anyway, 3NT must be right.

1, don't see why I would make it disappear

Basically because unless partner has 4 and less than 2 you will play better in than . And if hand belongs to partscore the only way to play in is to start with 1NT. Remember this is IMPs!
