ThomasRush
For some reason, I can't upvote posts on the BBO Forums.I get a popup with the message, "Action failed: You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day"and it doesn't matter if this is the first time I've tried to upvote in a day; I can never upvote the first time. Unlike "once is never enough", it's "once is too many". Is there something I can do to fix this? Is there something BBO can do to fix this?I like upvoting good answers. Thomas. smerriman
It's restricted to members who have made a minimum (unspecified) number of forum posts, so you just need to get more involved with the forum.

ThomasRush
Wow. 50 before allowing upvotes seems like a high bar. I have a BBO login I don't use much anymore -- SelfGovern. That one apparently has enough posts to be able to upvote. Is there a way to give me the OK for both of my 'names'? T.
mycroft
Upvote spammers (frequently sockpuppeting self-advertisers, or "the lurkers support me in email" games in a forum war) are a curse of all forum software. Especially because downvoting was disabled years ago (for good reason, but there are issues with doing it like this one), they can cause problems far above their assistance. It's important to ensure that people have a recognized presence before allowing some forum behaviour to ensure they're real people who get the community. These are the numbers BBO has come up with. Are they right? Maybe. Maybe not. I note that "upvoting" wasn't enabled/coded into other Bridge Site at all.
