mombear12
I use an I-macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 and use Firefox to log in to BBO. My Adobe has expired. Could this be the reason I can chat to my partner ("private - & then type in her username) but never have received a chat from either my partner or anyone at the table? Everything else on the BBO site works.Nancy (mombear12) Edited January 6, 2021 by barmar Removed email address

BBO, in their infinite wisdom, have not removed this bug or even made it optional.
fromageGB
Are you aware that (bug apart) it will not let you chat when cards are in hands, but you can when the board has finished being played before a new one appears? She may not be seeing your message.

barmar
Private chat to opponents is always allowed. Private chat to partner is allowed only after the last board of the round, while waiting for the round to change. Make sure they haven't inadvertently set your status to "Ignore". Then they won't receive your chats. Make sure you haven't set their status to "Ignore". Then you won't receive their chats to you. There should be no difference due to switching from the Flash to HTML versions.
