mbot2020
Just to let you know about an incident today. Opponents failed to alert an Unassuming Cue Bid causing me to want to retract my bid. I called the director immediately, at least I thought I did. Nothing happened so after waiting a few minutes I called him again, as I was being pressured by the opposition to get on with the hand. I did finally reluctantly bid and we played the board in 3S. However we had waited so long for the Director that we were then out of time for the second board. Half way through the first board of the next set the Director sent a chat apologising for his delay but he had been dealing with another incident. He ruled no recourse was allowed in this circumstance. I accepted his ruling reluctantly but said the delay was damaging to us, he did eventually agree to average plus for us on the second unplayed board. I had assumed that when I got no reply to my Director call that I was doing something wrong, not so, so I think there needs to be some process for the situation where the Director is busy. One solution is to give directors’ privileges to a second person.
blackshoe
If a director finds himself too busy to answer director calls in a timely manner, he needs at least one assistant. If I were the director here, I would never tell a player "too bad, I was too busy, but you get no recourse".
miamijd
By an unassuming cue bid I take it you mean a raise of openers suit after an overcall. Not alertable. And you can’t retract a bid on BBO. all you can get is an adjustment

I was concerned that there was no acknowledgement of the Director call for some 10 minutes
