Butchie T
It remains the exception, not the rule (now required), for pairs to post their general approach. Am I unreasonable to expect this or to ask for a director's help when a cc is not posted? Often, pairs will not respond to the director and much time is wasted waiting for their non-reply. Hands time out due to this obstruction. I feel this is unethical play – a form of cheating – if opponents have agreements and conventions but won't share them. dave1hall
Yes - pairs should post. I call director each time it happens. Since I play speedball, no further discussion, that takes too much time. Sometimes the opponents cooperate and state their system and carding, not always. However, the directors keep track of this stuff. 1 director told me the opposing pair was being removed for frequent violations. This was ACBL speedball, so the directors are used to these calls. I call because they cannot fix it if not aware.
