DaveNorris
On BBO, When an opponent explains a bid, and the explanation isn’t sufficient information, suggest:Add a check box to the explanation labeled: “Tell me more” and a line to type what you are asking for.Repeat the box after he gives more information in case it is still not sufficient. This happened: The auction proceeded: 1 Club by partner, 2 Diamonds by the Opponent (no explanation). When I asked, he replied “Diamonds” This yahoo had a strong jump overcall with a side 4 card heart suit for his bid. I should have asked for the director after the hand was over, but I didn’t. mycroft
I like the idea. Mostly if you were going to ask my clubs who asks the weirdest questions, my name would be a clear plurality at least. "What's your opening NT range?" "But she didn't open 1NT" Currently, questions like that are sent privately to the bidder - which works well when everybody's on a phone/tablet and have disappeared their chat. But getting upset about that particular unclear explanation is an exercise in futility. What "Diamonds" means is "everybody plays like me, and that's badly". 10% "I don't want to tell you" and 90% "Diamonds, of course, what kind of yahoo needs to ask about that?" - i.e. clear novice (potentially Life Novice, sure, but still).
