Laird
Hello All Last night whilst playing in a tournament I accidentally called the director 2 maybe 3 times...this was due to chat bubbles appearing over the top of the 'Call Director' button and as I cleared the chat I hit the button... How can this be avoided? John
inquiry
To avoid the bubbles..... Click on the maximize button on the top of the bbo gaming window (the button immediate to the left of the x in the square that closes the window). When you do this, a text area opens up below the gaming table view and all the text shows up in there. You willnot get any bubbles after that. Alternatively, you can turn off all chat, but then you might miss private alert/chats from opponents... and public information like what their agreements are when you sit down. hallway
A Laird's dilemma - my my ::P perhaps I can solve this one 8) - clear the Chat bubble by simply depressing the Esc key on your keyboard. now just leave those poor Directors alone - they have their work cut out just keeping me on the straight and narrow ;)
JRG
Inquiry's response was very good. Note that if you have the "Notify when friends login" (or whatever it is called) checked in your profile, you still get chat bubbles. Also, you need a screen resolution of at least 640 x 480 (which most people now have, but perhaps not if you have an older computer). Maureen's point about directors is important. They can be VERY busy people.
McBruce
One improvement I would like to see is an optional chat window, separate from the BBO window, to avoid the chat bubbles for the majority of us who have larger screen sizes. BBO covers about 1/4 of my 1600x1200 screen. Many areas of BBO do not allow for chat areas and such a separate window would make this much easier. I think the BBO screen is excellent in all other respects: I'm not trying to open a door here that would lead to future innovations that would allow dozens of separate windows like OKWin. --McBruce
mink
Hi McBruce, each application has a maxmize button at the left of the x used to close a window in its upper right corner - sure you are aware of this. Try it with the BBO application - you get an enlarged chat area that is always visible and therefore all chat bubbles are gone. The only bubbles that still appear then are those indicating that a friend logged in. Karl
